Mr. Pickens is the president and chief executive officer of Astrotech Corporation and a member of the company's board of directors. He is also the managing partner and founder of Tactic Advisors, Inc. and is currently a director for both Trenwick America Corporation and Advocate MD.
Previously Mr. Pickens served as the founder and president of Beta Computer Systems; managing partner, Grace Pickens Acquisition Partners, L.P.; managing partner, Sumter Partners L.P.; chairman and chief executive officer, Catalyst Energy Corporation (NYSE); and chairman, United Thermal Corporation (NYSE). Mr. Pickens earned a degree in economics from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas.
